ADJECTIVAL GRADATION

• El hotel es bastante pequeño y muy moderno.
• Barcelona es muy famosa y turística. 
• Es muy bonita, antigua y tiene monumentos que son muy conocidos.
• La Sagrada Familia está en Barcelona y es una iglesia muy especial del arquitecto Antoni Gaudí.
• El Parque Güell es muy grande.

The words in bold are called adjectives. These are adjectives of quantity and they tell us the quantity or the level associated with the word they refer to. Let’s check out some examples to find out more about their meaning. 

Barcelona es muy turística.
Barcelona is very touristic.

This means that there are many tourists.

Barcelona es bastante turística.
Barcelona is fairly touristic.

There are tourists. Not many, nor few, a normal amount.

Barcelona es poco turística.
Barcelona is hardly touristic.

That means that there are few tourists in Barcelona.
